About The Area

Nestled in Northern Wisconsin, the Minocqua area is considered a water lover’s heaven. World-class fishing, leisure boating, tubing, swimming, and water-skiing are among the popular activities the region has to offer. If you’re more of a land creature, there’s an impressive route of trails for walking, biking, running, hiking, and exploring.

If you’re interested in the wildlife and beautiful local habitat, you can cruise through the spectacular Willow Reservoir. If you’re bringing the whole family, there’s plenty to do here. Be sure to visit the Art Oehmcke Fish Hatchery in Woodruff – there are many big muskies and northerns to see! Don’t forget to make a stop at Wildwood Wildlife Park, as kids can pet a porcupine or feed the deer. And if you’re into woodworking, Scheer’s Lumberjack Shows are incredible demonstrations of log rolling, chopping, Lake and Docksawing and climbing.

Another family-friendly attraction for visitors of all ages is Sandy Point Disc Golf Ranch located just 15 minutes west of Minocqua.
